True North Behavioral Health: Program Policies & Rules

Attendance Policy

Participants are required to attend the full duration of each scheduled class or session in order to receive credit. Because anger management programs must meet specific instructional time requirements, arriving on time and completing the entire class is essential. Any session missed due to lateness, absence, early departure, or technical issues will be marked as an absence and must be made up in a future class. Excessive absences may result in removal from the program, and all missed sessions still incur the session fee.

Late Arrival Policy

To maintain the structure and integrity of the class, participants must log in promptly at the scheduled start time. Anyone who arrives more than 10 minutes late will not be admitted into the session, as partial attendance does not meet program or court requirements. Late arrivals are still responsible for the full session fee, and any missed session due to lateness will be recorded as an absence that must be made up.

Camera & Participation Policy (Online Classes)

For online classes, participants must attend from a quiet, private location and remain fully engaged throughout the session. Cameras must remain on, and the participant must stay visible for the entire class to receive credit. Activities such as driving, working, multitasking, or participating in a distracting environment are not permitted and may result in the session being marked as incomplete. These requirements ensure compliance with court-approved instructional standards.

Recording any portion of a class—whether through audio, video, screenshots, or screen recordings—is strictly prohibited. This policy protects participants’ privacy, supports a safe learning environment, and upholds program confidentiality standards. Any violation of this policy may result in immediate dismissal from the program without refund.

Payment & Refund Policy

Payment is required prior to each session unless a pre-approved payment plan is in place. Because your seat is reserved exclusively for you, all payments are final, and no refunds are issued for missed, cancelled, or late sessions. If a payment fails or a balance becomes overdue, attendance in future sessions may be paused until the account is brought current.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

If a participant needs to cancel or reschedule an individual session, a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required. Cancellations made within 24 hours or same-day cancellations are charged in full, as that time slot cannot be rebooked. Group classes cannot be rescheduled individually; any missed group session must be made up by attending a future class.

Court Documentation Policy

True North Behavioral Health provides attendance logs, progress updates, and completion certificates once all program requirements have been met. Documentation will only be released when all sessions are completed, all program fees are paid, and a signed Release of Information form is on file if updates are being sent to a third party such as a probation officer, attorney, or DFCS worker. We do not alter, modify, or backdate records under any circumstances.

Code of Conduct

Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and appropriate manner throughout the program. Disruptive behavior, hostile language, intoxication, or refusal to follow facilitator instructions will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the session or the entire program. A safe and supportive environment is essential for everyone’s learning and accountability.

Not Therapy Disclaimer

This program provides anger management education, not psychotherapy or mental health treatment. Participation in this program does not constitute a therapist–client relationship and does not involve diagnosis, clinical intervention, or treatment planning. Individuals seeking mental health counseling, crisis support, or therapeutic services will be referred to appropriate resources.
